Designing waste out of the system

Sustainability isn’t a department at Ignis Circular — it’s the entire point. Here’s how we put the circular economy into practice.

The waste hierarchy

We follow the hierarchy, every time

UK and EU waste law sets a clear order of preference for managing waste. We apply it rigorously, only moving down a step when the one above is genuinely not possible.

  • Prevent & reduce — helping customers cut the waste they create in the first place.
  • Reuse — finding a second life for items and materials before recycling.
  • Recycle — sorting and reprocessing materials back into new products.
  • Recover — capturing energy from residual waste that cannot be recycled.
  • Dispose — landfill only as a genuine last resort, which we work to eliminate.

Lower-carbon operations

We’re measuring our operational footprint and investing in cleaner plant and efficient logistics to bring it down year on year.

Closed-loop materials

By producing clean, well-sorted recyclate we help manufacturers use recycled content instead of virgin raw materials.

Energy from residuals

What truly can’t be recycled is turned into fuel for energy recovery — displacing fossil fuels and avoiding landfill methane.

Transparent reporting

Every customer receives clear diversion and recycling data to support their own ESG and net-zero reporting.

Community & education

We engage with our local community in Wimborne to promote recycling, reuse and a better understanding of waste.

Responsible sourcing

We work only with reputable, fully licensed downstream reprocessors and outlets for the materials we recover.

Cut waste, cut carbon, cut cost

Let us help your organisation hit its sustainability targets with smarter, more circular waste management.
