Genuinely non-recyclable residual waste is processed and baled as Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF), recovering energy at approved waste-to-energy facilities and keeping it out of landfill.
Local refuse waste disposal
Kerbside refuse collected by local authorities is delivered directly to our facility, where it enters our mechanical and biological treatment and recovery process.

Canford Recycling Centre — an MBT facility
We operate from the Canford Recycling Centre in Wimborne, an MBT (Mechanical-Biological Treatment) facility. MBT combines two stages under one roof: incoming waste is first mechanically sorted — screened, separated and picked to recover recyclable materials — and the remaining organic-rich fraction is then biologically treated to reduce its volume and stabilise it before recovery.
The result: more material recycled, residual waste turned into fuel rather than landfilled, and lower emissions from every tonne we handle.
